My New Car - Round 1

I have noticed lately that almost every banner ad I see online is for a car. I have been visiting a lot of car websites and I swear that my internet is adapting my banner ads based on my website history. Does anyone know if this really happens?

So tonight I test drove my first car, the Nissan Sentra. The car handles very well - it has some revolutionary transmission so you can't feel it shift. I love the look of the Sentra - especially in black. The woman who was selling me the car couldn't have been too much older than me, if she even was. She wasn't the strongest salesperson, but I am relieved she wasn't the "I'm your buddy! You're awesome!" type. In the end, the numbers looked really good. I was looking for $275/mo and I can have that with a few hundred down. I would DEFINITELY love to have the car for that price. BUT, the Ford Fuckus (haha Mike) is tempting. I have seen really good deals for that as well and I can't pass up a cheaper offer if I end up liking it.t

So tomorrow is Round 2 - my chance to get behind the new Ford Focus. I feel really grown up - getting my first car. My goal is to have it done by Friday or Saturday.

Some banner ads use cookies to determine content. Some can be based on your internet history. And some are just targeted to websites that serve certain demographics.

You can get a program called ad-aware (free download) that will scan your computer and delete all the cookies and whatnot from your computer. It does a pretty decent job, and you would be surprised how many active monitoring programs manage to attatch themselves to your computer. (I've run it at least every other month for the last few years, and it always finds at least 1 or 2.)
