Music

I am a pretty loyal fan of iTunes.  I like how conveniently I can play music on my iPod and in my car.  However, the "top selling songs" are often horrible and the current top 100 list may be the worst ever.  Consider a few lowlights:
-Four of the top 100 songs have "Fuck" in their titles, including "Tonight (I'm Fucking You)", two versions of "Fucking Perfect", and the uncreative "Fuck You".
-Song titles include "We R Who We R", "Like a G6", "Moment 4 Life", and "Yeah 3X", so apparently texted names are better
-There's also the purposefully spelled "Who Dat Girl", "California Gurls", "Tik Tok", "Kush"
-Five of the songs "Feature Akon" but none of them are by Akon.
-One of the songs is "Do the John Wall".  Do they realize John Wall just does the Dougie?
-Gwyneth Paltrow's song ranks #74

So I ask of you, give me music that will restore my faith in music.  Keep in mind that I don't like anything that could be mistaken for a song from the Juno soundtrack.

Well what types of music are you currently interested in? Rock? Something upbeat?

ANYthing. Except for Emo. Or country.

I've been in the same boat as you as far as finding new music to listen to...there's not a lot out there (at least that I really like).

I've been listening to a lot of electronic/party rock/techno-type music, which I don't see you really liking. Anything by Dev, The Cataracs, LMFAO, etc. It's not lyrically great, but it's fun listening.

Whenever I lose faith in music I listen Yo-Yo Ma.

I saw Juno, but I don't really remember what the soundtrack was like. I've been listening to a lot of instrumental stuff lately. Mostly post-rock bands like Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky. But maybe that's kind-of Juno-ish?

I've also been listening to "white boy rap" like Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, etc.

As for Rock, I have no idea about new bands. I tend to go through rock bands in phases. I'm in a Foo Fighters/Silvertide/The Parlor Mob phase right now.

http://www.music-map.com/ is a site I like for finding stuff I haven't heard before.

I really like this site. I was not surprised to find a lot of my other favorite artists under Guster - Ben Harper, Incubus, Weezer, Everclear.
