Why did I decide to make a list of the Top 46 instead of the Top 50? Because I am a rebel. And because I am impatient. Some of the things I considered when choosing the list was how much emotion the song provokes, how unique it is, and how much energy it has. Each person only gets one song, otherwise I'd have a list full of Guster, U2, and Beatles. Here's the list... now trash it. Just tell me what you think should be different, asshole.

Look at how I defined best songs.
"Demons" - can't ever get that song out of my head... it's memorable
"Times Like These" - the acoustic version is packed with energy and emotion.
The classics aren't packed with as much energy. That's how Trick Daddy squeezed his way up so high. I agree, in a few years it will struggle to make the list.
Franz Ferdinand is a one hit wonder. And Rolling Stone backed me up with the high-energy Eminem pick... they said it was #166 and the only two rap acts ahead of it were Public Enemy and Grand Master Flash.

You're overanalyzing. In my opinion, being unique or evoking emotion doesn't make a song better or worse, just different.
